Cato - Conway - Cosgrove - Missen - O'Brien - Quinane
The Dookie Cemetery was gazetted in 1875 on Crown Land on the western slopes of Mount Major. The cemetery is managed by the Cemetery Trust which consists of representatives of the three local churches. This cemetery is a classic example of a small Australian rural cemetery with members of the same family over two or more generations. Margaret McCarthy née Missen (daughter of Alan and Mary Missen) remembers as a small child taking home the wreaths enclosed in glass domes that are on the graves of John and Catherine Conway - cleaning and restoring them to almost new condition. Ron Missen, Margaret's brother of Shepparaton now tends to the resting place of our Conway Ancestors.
