IFHAA Volunteer Duties

Position Duties
Shipping Lists Page Maintainer The volunteer in this position would be required to maintain our shipping lists and passenger indents pages, as well as to actively seek contributions of new material for this category of the site. Some basic html experience would be required and a set of page templates would be provided to the volunteer
Page Maintainer for Military Bibliography The volunteer in this position would be required to maintain and add to our Military Bibliography pages, as well as to actively seek contributions of new material for this category of the site. Some basic html experience would be required and a set of page templates would be provided to the volunteer
Page Maintainer for Military Records Links Page The volunteer here would be asked to seek out the URL's for pages with an Australian Military History content and include these links to the relevant page. Some basic html ability is reuired (templates will be provided). This would best suit someone with an Interest in Australian Military History.
Page Maintainer - South Australian Links Page This position is best suited to someone with an interest in South Australian Local and Family History. The volunteer would be required to actively seek out new URL's for sites with a South Australian content related to either local or family history. Some basic html experience is required (templates will be provided)
Page Maintainer - Northern Territory Links Page This position is best suited to someone with an interest in Northern Territory Local and Family History. The volunteer would be required to actively seek out new URL's for sites with a Northern Territory content related to either local or family history. Some basic html experience is required (templates will be provided)
List Admin - IFHAA Members Mailing List This list was established for the use of IFHAA members and is a general purpose list for members discussion on all matters related to Australian Local and Family History as well as IFHAA matters. The Administrator would share full administrative rights to the list with the IFHAA Coordinators (Scott Brown and Cathy Dunn) and would be responsible for maintaining the decorum of the list and monitoring that list usage meets the aims of the list. They would also be required to actively promote the existence of the list and encourage and contribute to discussion threads.
List Admin - NSW New England Mailing List This list was established for the use of researchers with an interest in Local and Family History of the New England area of New South Wales. Ideally the volunteer would be active in research in this area or have an interest in the region. The Administrator would share full administrative rights to the list with the IFHAA Coordinators (Scott Brown and Cathy Dunn) and would be responsible for maintaining the decorum of the list and monitoring that list usage meets the aims of the list. They would also be required to actively promote the existence of the list and encourage and contribute to discussion threads.
List Admin - NSW South Central List This list was established for the use of researchers with an interest in Local and Family History of the Southern and Central areas of New South Wales. Ideally the volunteer would be active in research in this area or have an interest in the area. The Administrator would share full administrative rights to the list with the IFHAA Coordinators (Scott Brown and Cathy Dunn) and would be responsible for maintaining the decorum of the list and monitoring that list usage meets the aims of the list. They would also be required to actively promote the existence of the list and encourage and contribute to discussion threads.
List Admin - NSW North East List This list was established for the use of researchers with an interest in Local and Family History of the North East region of New South Wales (including Northern Rivers). Ideally the volunteer would be active in research in this area or have an interest in the area. The Administrator would share full administrative rights to the list with the IFHAA Coordinators (Scott Brown and Cathy Dunn) and would be responsible for maintaining the decorum of the list and monitoring that list usage meets the aims of the list. They would also be required to actively promote the existence of the list and encourage and contribute to discussion threads.
IFHAA Sponsorships Officer This role requires someone who would actively seek sponsorship for the IFHAA. One role would be to approach potential sponsors (e.g. Genealogy Software manufacturers/distributors) for contributions to maintain and enhance the operations of the IFHAA.
