26 May 1788 - Given 500 lashes for assault when, as a member of the guard over the colony garden he got drunk and quarreled with seamen James Coventry and John ))McNeal(( (whose wounds were serious enough to bring a charge of attempted murder against Coventry and Assell).
5 June 1789 - Discharged from 'Sirius' to the Port Jackson detachment
December 1791 - Left the Colony on the 'Gorgon' and was discharged to Portsmouth Barracks in June 1792
