It has been claimed that Peter also visited Botany Bay on the 'Endeavour' with Captain James Cook, although his name does not appear on the musters of any of Cook's voyages.
Remained on Norfolk Island after the 'Sirius' was wrecked. He and his family had left the Island by 1795.
1798 - He mastered the colonial vessel 'Norfolk' on a voyage of exploration, under Matthew FLINDERS. Point Hibbs was named for him. He later served on HMS 'Porpoise', being discharged from the ship in August 1803
