July 1791 - Listed as subsisting himself on on a Sydney Town, Norfolk Island lot with 37 rods cleared
1805 - Listed as John NOWLAND he was working as a labourer on Norfolk Island
1813 - Went to Van Diemens Land on the 'Minstrel'. In Van Diemens Land John worked 50 acres at Morven
1816 - Granted a Ferry Licence.
19 July 1817 - Advertised the ferry for sale
November 1817 - Given notice that the Provost-Marshall would sell his house if not removed
1821 - Recorded in the muster as NOWLAND at Port Dalrymple
