NOTES:
4 Nov. 1791 - The family was sent to Norfolk Island
1800 - James was charged with assaulting Sophia and they were ordered to live apart, each with one child. Sophia did not accompany James when he left the colony, for Ceylon, in 1814. Both James (Snr) and William had joined the NSW Corps in 1810 and they both went to Ceylon. It appears that James Jr. remained with Sophia and William went with his father when they separated.
