31 October 1777 - Tried at the Old Bailey for the theft of a handkerchief and sentenced to 3 years hard labour on the hulks.
8 October 1782 - Sentenced at Westminster to 7 years transportation to Africa for the theft of a handkerchief. He was embarked on the 'Benkiasa' and was landed at the island of Goree on the west coast of Africa in December 1782.
August 1783 - Returned to England and was captured at Seven Dials in September. He was tried for returning from transportation before his sentence was expired and sentenced to death, which was later reprieved to transportation for Life to America.
March 1784 - Embarked on the 'Mercury' transport, bound for America. He was recaptured at Devon following the convict mutiny on board this ship. He was again sentenced to death and this was again reprieved to transportation. He embarked on the 'Charlotte' in March 1787.
4 March 1790 - Sent to Norfolk Island from Port Jackson
13 September 1796 - Received a conditional pardon
