March 1794 - Embarked on the 'Mercury', bound for England. After the convict mutiny, John escaped and got as far as Stoke Damarel in Plymouth before being recaptured. 24 May 1784 he was sentenced to death but this was commuted to 7 years transportation on 9 June 1784
March 1791 - Appointed Principal of the Night Watch at Parramatta
25 August 1792 - Established a farm on a 30 acre grant at Prospect Hill
