Assistant Surgeon to the Colony of NSW. Thomas was the 11th child of his parents. His father was a Tallow Chandler or Malter of Kingston - a member of a fairly extensive family. Apprenticed to a trade Thomas was admitted to the Company of Wheelwrights in London on 28 March 1775, his profession on the Certificate of Freedom of the City of London was given as apothecary.
John and Esther were the children of Thomas and Esther Foscari (Possibly Isabella Francesca FOSCARI - a Jewish Italian singer. The child, Esther, would later marry William Hilton Hovell, one of Australia's early explorers.
1788 - He was given charge of the first hospital established at Rose Hill (later Parramatta) NSW.
July 1792 - Received a grant of 60 acres of land. He received several other grants and, by mid 1800, he was recorded as holding three grants - 60 acres at Parramatta, 70 acres at Northern boundary & 100 acres in the Dundas district. He also had a 100 acre Northern Boundary farm held by purchase and a 1 acre lease at Parramatta. Two years later he held 560 acres. In June 1804 he received a further 600 acres at Mulgrave Place called 'Caddai'. Buried at St Matthew's, Windsor. By the time of his death he had 2 sons and four daughters with Elizabeth.
